Pavel Hejný was born in 1986. He graduated from the Art Photography and Media at Graphic School Prague in 2010, and studied photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. He began photographing the National Theater Ballet in Prague in 2007. In 2013 he shot his first TV commercial for the National Theater Ballet and won his first Young Lions Czech Republic in the Print category. In 2017 he won gold and silver Cannes Lions in the print category for Newsweek/Young and Rubican Prague. In 2018 his campaign for Reporter magazine won 2 silver and 1 bronze Cannes Lions, Clio Awards and Golden Drum Grand Prix, Gold and Silver and also received the Lucie Award for Print Advertising Campaign of the Year (awarded to photographer.)
